EPA-Petrol Pak-EPA issues environmental approval to 81 Petrol Pumps, 133 CNG Stations
ISLAMABAD, Sep 26 :Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has so far issued environmental approvals to 81 Petrol Pumps and 133 CNG Stations.
According to officials Pak-EPA has received 92 applications of Petrol Pumps for Environmental Impact Assessment. The four applications were rejected by Pak-EPA, while 7 under process.
Pak-EPA also since 2004 to-date received 133 applications for Environmental Impact Assessment and issued approval to all 133.
The officials said that elite force have been provided to Pak-EPA for field operations and in office. However, the officials said that role of Pak-EPA needs to be re-defined after devolution, adding that vacant post should be filled.
They said that budget should be allocated for the operational activities of the EPA, besides provision of logistic support.
