Pak in contact with India over prisoners
Islamabad: Pakistan is in contact with India for return of Pakistani prisoners incarcerated in prisons. Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammed Faisal said that of the 60 Pakistani prisoners who had completed their sentences, 21 were civilians while the other 26 were fishermen. “There are a total of 365 Pakistani prisoners in prisons,” he added. “Our mission is in contact with all relevant Indian authorities for repatriation of these prisoners. Our High Commission in New Delhi also engages with the Indian media to highlight the plight of Pakistani prisoners,” the spokesperson said. Pakistan has also hired a law firm to help and facilitate their return, he said.
