Single country exhibition proposed
Islamabad: Commending governments export-boosting measures, Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) Chairman Naeem Sajid has called for launching a policy of Single Country Exhibitions to ensure accessibility into global markets and successful marketing of Pakistan-made products in the world. He was heading to PCMEA executive committee meeting held here on Sunday in attendance with senior central leader Abdul Latif, senior vice chairman Ijaz ur Rehman, Mian Pervaiz Hanif, Riaz Ahmed, Saeed Khan, Akbar Malik, Maj Akhter Nazeer and others members. Addressing the committee, he urged upon strategizing Single Country Exhibitions to make a real difference in economic arena. He demanded for appointment of government focal person in a bid to develop strong relations and sensitizing deeper awareness of problems of manufacturers and exporters. The meeting took stock of various issues confronted by carpet industry, amended finance bill and proposed Taxpo exhibition in April. It decided to make full participation in Taxpo exhibition. However, it asked government to wriggle industry out of quagmire of problems at earliest. PCMEA Chairman Naeem Sajid hailed government steps to revive culture of exports but suggested to conduct insightful studies of developed countries to know how they got ahead in exports. Their experiences and policies may be beacon of light for us, he opined. He envisioned development lies in promotion of export, saying government have to hash out long term policy to make a turnaround. At last, meeting put forth a set of suggestions and reflected on them in the light of new perspectives. It hoped healthy ties between government and exporters & manufacturers to strengthen economy.
