Peace vital for stability in Afghanistan: FM
Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has stated that Pakistan desires peace in Afghanistan as it is vital for stability in the entire continent.He said this in a message on the occasion of Afghanistan’s Independence Day.The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue to play the role of facilitator in the Afghan peace process with complete sincerity and as a shared responsibility.
Felicitating the Afghan government and people on the Independence Day, the Foreign Minister said the people of Pakistan enjoy deep rooted centuries old socio-economic relations.Meanwhile Foreign Minister Shah
Mahmood Qureshi directed for upgrading technical communications system on modern lines in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Speaking during a visit to Communications Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday, he assured all possible cooperation to provide the best resources to the Division.
The Foreign Minister said we have been facing several challenges, and to deal with them, we will have to enhance capacity of our officers.He said the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the best team. He said the young officers of the Ministry have been working with full dedication and commitment, and its results are also coming forth.
The Director Communications Division gave a detailed briefing to the Minister about the networking department.The Foreign Minister also paid a visit to Security Division at the Ministry and expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements.
