Modi committed grave mistake: Imran Khan
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has committed a grave mistake by illegally annexing Kashmir and such oppressive tactics will not subjugate Kashmiris just struggle for right to self-determination.
Addressing participants of a human chain formed at the Constitution Avenue Islamabad on Friday to express solidarity with Kashmiris, he said that the struggle of Kashmiris will lead to their independence from Indian occupation.
The prime minister said that it is an irony that the international media is giving much coverage to the protests in Hong Kong while it is ignoring the oppression against 8 million people of occupied Kashmir.
Imran Khan went on to say that the Pakistani nation will always stand by the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir, adding that we will continue supporting the people of occupied Kashmir and our movement for human rights of Kashmiris will become a sea one day.
He said we are repeatedly giving a message to the world that eight million Kashmiris have been under siege for over two months.
“The world should know that the people of Kashmir have gone beyond the fear of death,” he said and added there will be millions of people on roads the day curfew is lifted from occupied Kashmir.
On the occasion, a large number of people belonging to different walks of life formed a human chain to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
The participants chanted slogans for freedom of Kashmir from the Indian occupation.
Earlier, PM Imran Khan said that he is puzzled as to how international media is continuing to give headline coverage to Hong Kong protests but is ignoring the dire human rights crisis in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).
The premier took to twitter and said Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory which is illegally annexed by India with 900 thousand troops imposing a siege on 8 million Kashmiris.
“I am puzzled as to how international media continues to give headline coverage to Hongkong protests but ignores the dire human rights crisis in IOJK – an internationally recognised disputed territory illegally annexed by India with 900k troops imposing a siege on 8mn Kashmiris,” he said.
Imran Khan added that there has been a complete blackout of communications for over two months in IOJK. Thousands of people have been imprisoned, including entire spectrum of political leadership plus children, and a humanitarian crisis is growing, he stressed.
