2020 year of progress: Imran Khan
Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that there was a time when people from Middle East used to come to Pakistan for education.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that Islam has emphasized on the pursuit of education, adding that the government’s goal is to restore the merit by fixing the domestic system.
The prime minister said that the education was ignored in the past, adding that the country’s poor conditions are the reason due to ignoring education.
Imran Khan reiterated that Pakistan will make progress in 2020 as the international institutions were acknowledging Pakistan s economic growth and the people will get jobs. “Almighty Allah has blessed Pakistan numerous resources,” he said.
PM Imran went on to say that the former rulers wanted to make Pakistan an Asia Tiger which was a small vision but “I wanted to turn the country into a model state like Madina that has the same law for all.”
“Unfortunately, former rulers had a vision that Pakistan would become an Asian Tiger,” PM Imran said and added it is a small vision. “In my vision, I dreamed of making Pakistan a welfare state like Madina,” he added.
The prime minister said that economy has been stabilized during the last year and now all economic indicators are showing positive signs. He said now the government will focus on utilizing all available resources in the country and provide maximum relief to people.
Imran Khan said the government will ensure provision of essential commodities at utility stories at lower rates and introduce Insaf Cards. He said Langar will be started in slum areas; while Health Insurance Cards and Panahgahs have already been opened for the needy.
He said tourism and construction sectors will be given special importance during the current year, which will bolster national economy.
The Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to rectify the system by bringing meritocracy and strengthening institutions.
