Decision on Musharraf appeal ironic: Nafisa Shah

Islamabad: Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Dr. Nafisa Shah has been baffled by the verdict of Lahore High Court in Pervez Musharraf’s case and said that today is an unfortunate day for rule of law.

She said that the court in Pervez Musharraf’s case was constituted by the Supreme court and it consisted of judges from three High Courts of the country. The appeal against the verdict should have been filed in the Supreme Court and not the High Court.

Dr. Nafisa Shah said that a case with regard to judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is awaiting hearing for the last eight years whereas an appeal against conviction of a dictator was decided within days.

She also said that the killers of Benazir Bhutto have not apprehended yet. Who will provide justice to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, she asked.
