‘Meghan and Harry still part of royal family’
London: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry went on their royal farewell tour this week, and now that they have their lives in Canada ahead of them, Queen Elizabeth wanted to stress that they are still welcome among the royal family.
Despite all the drama that’s gone down over the past few years and the feud that divided Harry and Prince William, for the Queen, it’s old news. According to sources of People’s royal correspondent, Simon Perry, the Queen believes Meghan and Harry are still “much loved members of the family.” A family friend added, “That stuff runs deep. There is an element of working things through.”
Needless to say, that’s great news because the tension at the Commonwealth Day Service was thic with three Cs. Because Meghan, Harry, William, and Kate Middleton didn’t join the Queen’s procession this year, they all entered separately and were seated before Her Majesty arrived. As the cameras focused on the Fab Four, royal fans could see their dynamic was so off.
According to body language expert Blanca Cobb, the brothers displayed a “similar seriousness” and Kate’s greeting, or lack thereof, was “lackluster.” In case her greeting wasn’t indication enough, a Vanity Fair source explained, “To be honest I think Kate has taken it all badly. She Harry and William were once such a happy trio, she thinks what has happened is all very sad.”
All that said, the Queen is definitely on their side and seems to be actively working to keep them involved in the family—she even invited the couple to church on Sunday. Hopefully this sets the tone for the rest of the family!
