Bilawal Bhutto condemns maligning campaign against journalists
Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemning the scolding and abusing of renowned journalists on social media has said that abusing journalists is another attack on the elements who have been criticizing the government on its faulty policies.
Chairman PPP said in a statement that by scolding journalists they are being given a message to either remain silent or be ready to face the consequences. The government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf instead of trolling the opposition should focus on the elimination of coronavirus.
The government and PTI should use national resources and their efforts to make people aware of coronavirus. Chairman Bilawal said that the need of the hour is to be united.
He said that media plays a vital role in a democratic system. The media all over the world has criticized and held responsible different governments on their measures regarding corona control. The government should remember that there is a long struggle by the journalists in the history against tyranny and injustices.
In a twitter message, Chairman PPP has said that Human Rights Watch has advised the federal and other provincial governments to adopt policies of Sindh government.
This international organization has said that the Sindh government’s policies should be followed by other governments for protecting workers’ rights. The Sindh government has issued an order not to lay-off workers in the time of the pandemic. Sindh government has also established a complaint cell where employees can file their complaint of either not getting their salaries or being rendered unemployed.
