PPP establishes relief fund for affectees of coronavirus
Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party has decided to establish a relief fund to help the families affected by coronavirus.
The people need help on a huge scale due to coronavirus crisis. An account will be opened for this relief fund from which practical measures will be taken for providing relief to the people. The PPP members of national and provincial assemblies along with Party leaders would deposit funds in this relief fund account.
The secretary general PPP, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has written a letter to the Election Commission in which he has said that according to the rules of ECP the parties are bound to provide details of all Party accounts. This account will only be used for providing relief to the affectees of coronavirus. Pakistanis residing overseas can also donate to this cause through this account.
The letter says that according to the law, the Party has to provide all the details of the account and the donors. The Party will provide will provide all the record of the amount collected and the expenditures from this account. The Party hopes that the expected donations will be deposited from donors at a large scale so it would not be possible to provide detail of the donors.
The prime minister has also announced not to ask any questions from the donors donating in PM’s corona relief fund. The Party hopes that the Election Commission will cooperate in helping the people in these trying times.
