PTI government in KP failed to protect people from Covid-19: PPP

Islamabad: Senior leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have said that due to low testing capacity in the province, the number of Covid-19 patients is increasing.

Addressing a press conference at the media office Islamabad Engineer Himayun Khan, Senator Rubina Khalid and Faisal Karim Kundi with Nazir Dhoki said that other than Peshawar no place in KP the tests are conducted and the numbers of patient are increasing with an alarming number of deaths.

At a time when the entire world is appreciating Sindh government’s response in dealing with the pandemic, the federal government is targeting Sindh government. The ministers found involved in corruption are being promoted and awarded a better ministry. No hospital in KP is providing free treatment whereas in Sindh free treatment is being provided to every patient.

They said that national assembly and senate are closed and how the budget will be passed. They said that similarly KP assembly is closed as well. Numerous doctors have tested positive of Covid-19 in KP because required PPEs have not been provided to the doctors.

They said that Imran Khan has deputed his federal ministers to run a campaign against Sindh government. Several members provincial assembly KP who belong to PTI are disappointed with the performance of PTI government and thinking of quitting the PTI. They accused federal government of failing to lead the fight against Covid-19.

They said that situation is getting out of control of PTI provincial government in KP. All gynaecology hospitals have been closed including Lady Reading hospital Peshawar. They also claimed that hospital equipments from government hospitals are being sold in the markets.
