Bilawal Bhutto rejects PTI budget
Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has rejected the budgetary proposals laid by the PTI government and termed it very disappointing.
Reacting to the PTI budget, the PPP Chairman said that Pakistan is facing historic challenges now and lives of the people are in jeopardy due to the outbreak of Coronavirus while the biggest locust attack in the country is a major threat to the agriculture, food security and economy of the country.
The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari severely lambasted the PTI government in the centre for failing to give any importance to the threats the country is facing.
He said that the PTI government has presented a routine budget and nothing else. “This is an anti-people budget of the PTIMF, as the PTI government has failed to announce any big or small relief to the common man in the budget.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if there is relief in the budget, it is for the elite class.
The PPP Chairmain said, “The budget has only hurt the common man.” “No increase in salaries has been made in this budget.” In addition, it is totally void of any increase in pensions, he added.
He said that we do not want our elders to leave their homes because of the coronavirus. At that time, we should have given relief to our elders by increasing their pensions, instead.
He said that we should have provided protection and relief to every worker, poor and farmer in the budget and special incentives should have been made in the federal budget for frontline medical personnel.
He lamented that no relief was seen in the budget.
“We had expected that a special health package would be provided in the budget for each province to combat the coronavirus, but this did not happen,” he said.
The PPP Chairmain said that every citizen should reject PTIMF budget. The PPP and other opposition parties will soon hold an APC on this disappointing PTIMF budget and he would also speak in detail on the floor of the National Assembly.
