Rehman Malik stands vindicated

Islamabad: Former interior minister Rehman Malik’s stance was vindicated when police refused to register a First Informations Report (FIR) against him as Cynthia Dawn Ritchie a US citizen could not provide any evidence in her rape claims.

*During the high level investigation on the application by US Citizen Cynthia Dawn Ritchie to Police in person, the charges were termed malicious and suspicious by police.

Police Station Secretariat in its investigation report on the complaint of US Citizen Ms. Cynthia Dawn Ritchie has termed her allegations against Senator A. Rehman Malik as suspicious, unsubstantiated and inadequate for registering an FIR as police finds no truth in it.

The lady appeared in the police station and was cross questioned by the team of police officers and she failed to give any evidence in support of her false claims which were aimed at harming Rehman Malik’s reputation. He has come out clean as the lady failed to substantiated her baseless allegation against him.

Police in its report states “In her petition, the petitioner has accused that she has been receiving threats calls from PPP workers but neither could she provide the phone numbers nor the time of threat has been mentioned and also neither the names of the callers have been written and nor the nature of threat has been stated and she has levelled allegations against without any evidence. The public feels that Cynthia Ritchie levelled abruptly false allegations against Rahman Malik when he took suo moto on the derogatory tweet against Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto.

The police investigation further reveals that in the last paragraph of the petition, it is alleged that she was raped in 2011 but on checking the records it is found that the said person neither had reported any such incident to this police station nor any at that time nor any complaint was received or filed from the concerned USA embassy.

Neither any report was lodged with the police station nor any written or verbal complaint was ever lodged on any other forum regarding rape, report said.
Police further elaborates that allegations such as rape require medical evidence, but she has not approached any police station for medical application at the time of this alleged alligation and she could not provide any medical certificate / MLR with complaint.

The contents of the application are found to be highly suspicious and no FIR in this regard could be registered on her complaint as there is no proof and substantial evidence of alleged rape against Senator Rehman Malik. The position of Senator Rehman Malik in this case stands vindicated and finally truth prevails. The charges against Yousef Reza Gilani are also without any evidence as Cynthia Ritchie failed to provide any proof.

The police also rejected the alligation against Rehman Malik for influencing the media.
It must be mentioned here that Senator Rehman Malik has already written a letter to Interior Ministry to place name of Cynthia Dawn Ritchie on ECL in order ensure her presence before the courts in good faith.
