First female officer in Pakistan Army promoted as Lieutenant General
Rawalpindi: Major General Nigar Johar, an officer of Pakistan Army, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
A statement issued by Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar on Twitter said that Nigar Johar was the first female officer of the Pakistan Army to be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar has been posted as Surgeon General of Pakistan Army. She has also received the honor that no woman has been appointed to this post before.
Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar belongs to Panj Peer area of Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
