Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s message relevant for centuries: Ali Asghar Shahid

Oslo: Pakistan People Party (PPP) Norway Senior Vice President Ali Asghar Shahid has said that PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s message is relevant for centuries to come.

In a statement, Ali Asghar Shahid said Bhutto sacrificed his life but did not compromise on principles.

“Bhutto is not only a personality but an ideology. He will continue to guide the future generations from his grave,” the PPP leader said.

Ali Asghar Shahid said the PPP will never shun the supremacy of the constitution, sustainable democracy and respect of the masses.

“We will never compromise on constitution, democracy and rule of masses,” he reaffirmed, paying homage to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as well as his assassinated daughter, a former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto.

He condemned the July 5, 1977 coup saying on that day in 1977, aspirations of the masses, democracy and humanity were murdered.

“Ziaul Haq abolished the constitution and wrapped up democracy after staging the coup,” he said.
