Sehar Kamran demands apology from US Census Bureau on flag fiasco
Islamabad: Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) strongly condemned the posting of Indian flag on the microblogging website twitter, by the US Census Bureau, while wishing Pakistan on the occasion of its 74th Independence Day.
She stated that this diplomatic negligence by a US government department is extremely unfortunate and has hurt the sentiments of millions of Pakistanis living across the globe.
Senator Kamran demanded an official apology from the US Census Bureau and said merely deleting the tweet is not enough of an action.
She further stated that Pakistan has its own unique history, geography, culture and traditions, and it is not just a footnote to its eastern neighbour.
Diplomatic protocols must be adhered to irrespective of the platform, this act of carelessness at a government level can’t be simply overlooked, she concluded.
