Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Nafisa Shah Wednesday released the PPP Report “2 years of Tabahi” on completion of two years of the federal government led by the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI).

“Not only have none of their promises and claims been fulfilled, their goverment has reneged on all commitments of giving 10 million jobs, building 50 lakh houses, and bringing back 200bn dollars worth of looted wealth from overseas. To all those people PTI has given several amnesties through which ill-gotten wealth was legalised,” said the report.

They have made uturns on not taking foreign loans, on turning Prime Minister and Governor houses into universities and museums. PTI promised police reforms but instead they have instituted a police raj. They promised local government reforms, instead they suspended local government in the Punjab and have yet to conduct elections in KP, it said.

The fake accountability using a draconian law and a controversial institution such as NAB stands exposed in a recent Supreme Court judgement which expressed concern on the arbitrary arrests by NAB and it’s one sided accountability, the report said.

As for corruption, Pakistans ranking has slipped further at 120 out of 180 countries in Tabdeeli government. The government’s own sponsored reports on sugar, wheat, IPP and BRT indicate rampant corruption In their ranks, added the report.

This report also highlighted how democratic institutions including media, parliament, judiciary, and civil society are subjected to manipulation, engineering and selection by a government with fascist tendencies.

The country has been subjected to misrule and incompetence which has made daily lives of Pakistanis very difficult. The prices of basic commodies like sugar and wheat are very high, gas and electricity bills are exorbitant.

One of the biggest fiasco of PTI has been in the field of foreign policy. The PTI government met with diplomatic failures in rallying support against Narendar Modi’s revocation of special status of Indian occupied Kashmir, and now has created a stand off with Saudi Arabia. Their government’s own frustration with their failure is evident in the recent statement by one Minister implicating foreign affairs establishment and the foreign minister himself physically attacking the Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister.
