Chinese embassy praises Imran Khan’s ‘warm remarks’

Islamabad, September 5: Chinese embassy in Pakistan Friday praised Prime Minister Imran Khan for his “warm remarks” for China – popularly known in Pakistan as the Iron Brother.

Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier, said that China’s growth rate was faster than any other country in the world, and Pakistan can benefit from the manner in which China had developed and lifted its people out of poverty.

In a interview, PM Khan said that Pakistan’s economic future was “now linked to China” and the bilateral relations between Islamabad and Beijing are “better than ever before.”

In a statement, the Chinese embassy applauded the “warm remarks by PM Imran Khan on China-Pak relations.”

The embassy also appreciated contribution of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority in advancing CPEC in a fully committed way.

“We will work with Pak Gov (Pakistan government) in earnest under guidance of the two leadership for a shared future,” the statement added.

Recently, PM Imran Khan expressed the need for more cooperation between China and Pakistan in all fields.

Prime Minister Khan urged the Chinese entrepreneurs to establish their regional offices in Pakistan.

“Chinese business houses should establish their regional offices in Pakistan,” the prime minister said while chairing a meeting with a delegation of 10 leading Chinese companies undertaking business ventures in critical sectors, including energy, communication, agriculture, science and technology, financial sector and industry.

He reiterated that Pakistan and China had shared destiny. “Strengthening of business-to-business ties of the people of the two countries is a foremost priority,” he added.

Prime Minister Khan assured the Chinese investors that his government would accord highest priority to provision of every possible facilitation to Chinese investors.

The delegation comprised representatives of Power Construction Corporation of China (Power China), China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), China Gezhouba (Group) Pakistan, China Three Gorges South Asia Investment Company Ltd, China Railway Group Limited, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Machinery Engineering Corporation and China Mobile Pakistan Limited.
