Sehar Kamran felicitates nation on 55th Defence Day

Islamabad: Senator Sehar Kamran felicitated the nation on the 55th Defence Day.

She said every year we commemorate this day with solemnity and reverence to remind our younger generations, about the sacrifices and our services our armed forces have laid to secure the future of this country.

Senator Kamran stated that Pakistan is the only country in the world that has valiantly fought against terrorists and has successfully defeated them.

She said Pakistan’s successes against militants is a testament of the bravery of our armed forces. Undoubtedly, no other nation has paid such a heavy price as the people of Pakistan in fighting the militants and to safeguard their right to live in accordance with the democratic values.

Senator Sehar Kamran also paid tribute to the Former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Peoples Party Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who laid down the foundations for an impenetrable defence of the country by initiating the country’s nuclear program, and former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who further strengthened it.

Today, while paying tribute to martyrs who laid lives in defence of our mother land, we must also commit to the resolve to not shy away from any sacrifice for the defence of our motherland, she added.
