Filing supplementary references by the NAB is illegal: Farooq Naek
Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani after the hearing of Tosha Khana case talking to the journalists outside NAB court in Islamabad said that Former President Asif Ali Zardari and himself was charged today in Tosha Khana case and both of them have denied doing anything wrong.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that he did not do anything against rules and there was no personal interest in his act.
Farooq Naek, the counsel of President Asif Ali Zardari said that there were hearing of three cases against President Zardari and in one, Tosha Khana case, the charge was framed against his client. The other two cases are called Park lane case and fake account case.
In these both cases the NAB wanted to file supplementary references which he opposed. He said that NAB has no authority to file supplementary reference. This is illegal and cannot be filed because law does not permit any supplementary reference.
He said that he has asked to quash those supplementary references. If they want to go ahead with the cases they will have to go by the original reference. The hearing is on 17th and he will argue his case then.
