Islamabad: On the 13th anniversary of the Karsaz incident, PPP leader Sehar Kamran paid tribute to the martyrs of the tragedy. She said the country’s history will always remember the 130 party workers who lost their lives that day, in the quest for restoring democracy along with Benazir Bhutto.

Senator Kamran recounted how she had accompanied Bhutto from Dubai to Karachi on 18th October, 2007, and got injured herself as a result of the blast.

She said, “I had the privilege of meeting her in her finest hour – emanating confidence, determination and all those leadership qualities we had so sorely missed. I was honoured to accompany Mohtarma Benazir on the flight to Karachi, with the other PPP supporters.

The scenes we witnessed in Karachi on her arrival were emotional and historic. The passion of the multitudes welcoming their beloved leader was unforgettable, and has left a permanent imprint on my heart.”

Senator Sehar Kamran stated that Benazir Bhutto returned to country from exile to fight against dictatorship and terrorism.

She said Shaheed Benazir had a vision for the development and prosperity of the country which we as a nation must adhere to.

“Today that baton, with all its heavy responsibilities, has been passed on to her son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The dynamic, enterprising and diligent young leader has taken on Shaheed Benazir’s unfinished tasks, and continues down the path envisioned and forged by his mother with her sweat and blood.”
