Democracy solution to all problems: Bilawal Bhutto

Ghanche: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Thursday said that the solution of all problems faced in the country was in democracy.

Addressing a PPP workers convention in district Ghanche of Skardu in Gilgit Baltistan, Bilawal said that it was his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given Ghanche the status of a district but afterwards Zia-ul-Haq had withdrawn that status.

“When Benazir Bhutto came into power, she restored that status again and since then Ghanche is a district in Skardu. Today the PPP is beginning its election campaign 2020 from this district,” he added.

Bilawal said that “we had promised a lot of things in PPP manifesto for 2018 elections and we reiterate those promises. He said that he is grandson of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and son of Benazir Bhutto and not a player who takes a u-turn on all his promises.”

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that GB is without universities and hospitals because people sitting in Islamabad refuse to listen to GB demands. Only Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto were sincere for the rights of the people of GB. They provided employment and food subsidies to the people of GB. Today lady health workers are serving the people all over Pakistan and GB.

“Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had revolutionized industries and agriculture to provide job opportunities to the people. Our slogan in 2008 was “Benazir Aaye gi, rozgar laey gi”. Asif Ali Zardari started BISP to support poor women of Pakistan which is still serving the people. President Zardari increased the salaries up to 150 percent, pensions up to 100 percent and the salaries of our army personnel to 175 percent. Only PPP could take such people and poor friendly measures,” he added.

Chairman PPP said that in Sindh we have a network of free hospitals where heart and liver patients are treated free of cost. Famous singer from Punjab, Shaukat Ali is being treated in Gumbat, a small tehsil of district Khairpur in Sindh, hospital free of cost. He said that GB is feeling pressure due to Covid-19 because it does not have a single tertiary medical facility. He said that now PPP will establish such hospitals in GB. He said we will have to make sure that education up to university level is available to everyone so we will establish universities and campuses all over GB so that the youth of GB can get education they need in their own province.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he asks people to go to GB first and then to visit Sindh because there is no place in the world like GB. The fruits of this area cannot be compared to fruits from anywhere in the world because GB fruits are the best and most sweet. We will establish fruit processing plants and cold storage in GB so that people in Pakistan and the entire world can taste them. He said that agriculture is the domain of PPP but unfortunately the puppet and selected government has totally ignored the growers of Pakistan.

Chairman PPP said that in the past two years the puppet government has ignored the people of GB rather the entire country. This government wants to destroy Sindh as it has destroyed Khybar Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab like it has destroyed the future of youth of the country, the young doctors, pensioners and laborers. Everyone is facing acute price-hike. The PPP is the only political party which can solve the problems faced by the people.

He asked the party workers to go to door to door with the PPP manifesto and deliver them the message of prosperity, rights and development of the party. He said that solution of problems is in democracy and PPP is still fighting for real democracy and against this puppet and hybrid system from the platform of PDM. The way you had snatched freedom from Dogra raj we will also take back democracy from this puppet government, he said.

Chairman PPP arrived at Saksa, a small town of Ghanche district, to speak at a corner meeting of the party in connection to the election campaign, where he was showered with rose petals and a horse show. The elders of the area were gathered and received the Chairman PPP. Young girls presented traditional songs for the visiting leader. Mohammad Jafar, Ghulam Ali Haidari, Mohammad Ibrahim, Raja Liaqat, Yahya Bakhtiar, Engineer Mohammad Nazir, Ghulam Abbas and others were present in the corner meeting. Former Governor GB Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Syed Nasir Shah also accompanied Chairman PPP.

Speaking at the occasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari saluted the people for coming out in great numbers to receive him and said that it is continuation of the relation between the PPP and the people of GB from the times of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto provided passport to the people so that they can go abroad for employment to support their families. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto visited even Siachen despite being a woman. He said that people of GB are not in the national assembly but he is their voice in the parliament. He appealed to the people to vote for the PPP candidates and put stamp on the arrow in the elections.
