Election Commissioner GB a facilitator of PM Imran Khan: Bilawal Bhutto

Astore: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded of the Election Commissioner Gilgit Baltistan to reveal his meeting record with government functionaries in Islamabad.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the responsibility of the Election Commissioner is to hold free and fair elections in GB but he is holding meetings in Islamabad and addressing press conference against him despite the fact that he does not hold any public office and has the right to run the election campaign of his party.

The Election Commissioner is facilitating the Prime Minister and federal ministers in violating elections laws. He told people that the election commissioner is not protecting the right of the people to participate in free and fair elections.

He was addressing corner meetings of PPP at Pakwara in Astore and Jaglot in connection with the election campaign for election 2020 in GB. Former Senate Chairman and Secretary General PPP, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and former Governor GB and President PPP central Punjab Qamar Zaman Kaira was also present on the occasion.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also criticised PM Imran Khan for announcing status of interim province to GB because it was President Asif Ali Zardari who had delivered interim province, governor and the chief minister back in 2009 to the people of GB. He said that PM Imran Khan Khan is totally ignorant of the situation in GB. Imran Khan said that he is not announcing any package for GB due to elections but the people ask him that why he did not announce the package during last 2 years of his government.

He said the visits of Prime Minister and federal ministers are violation of election laws. What projects Imran Khan announced for GB in the last two years, he asked. He said that the government ministers are distributing money to the people in return of their votes but they do not know that the people of GB are honourable and loyal people who are not for sale.

Chairman Bilawal said that only PPP delivers for the people from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari. Imran Khan wants to snatch the subsidy given by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on food items, petrol and clothes but the PPP will not allow this to happen.

PPP will not only deliver a full fledge status of a province to GB but also the right to rule and the rights of property and employment. The PPP will start several projects which will are also the demand of the people of GB. People of GB believe in PPP’s promises because they know PPP for the last three generations as a party which fulfills all its promises.

He said that today every section of society is protesting against this government’s tyranny. He strongly condemned the killing of growers’ leader from Vehari, Malik Ashfaq Langrial, who succumbed to the injury sustained due to torture and baton charge by the Imran’s Punjab government in Lahore recently. He said that the day is not far when this government will be held responsible for all these atrocities.
