Long march to Islamabad after Senate pols: Bilawal Bhutto
Kohat: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that after the Senate elections, democrats from every corner of this country will march towards Islamabad and will send this puppet prime minister home and will establish a people’s government to serve the people of Pakistan.
He said this while addressing a mammoth public gathering in Kohat where Senator Shamim Afridi and Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Amjad Afridi announced joining the PPP.
Welcoming Shamim Afridi and Amjad Afridi into the party, Chairman PPP said that it is the beginning of our journey together with the Afridi family and we will together serve the people and will save the innocent people of KP from the tyranny of this selected government.
He said that PPP is the party that restored the constitution in its original shape, gave autonomy to the provinces and gave the right to the people on their resources.
He said that the foundation of CPEC was laid to benefit the people of less developed areas so that the economic progress could take place from Gilgit to Gwadar, but this incapable government wants to discontinue this project by a policy of “go slow”.
He said that PPP has always served the people of less developed areas. The founder of the party, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave the rights to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Benazir Bhutto served the people and provided jobs not only to men but also women. President Zardari during his tenure provided employment, increased pensions up to a 100% and a 150% increase in the salaries of government employees. He also increased the salaries of the soldiers who were fighting for the country and were at war with terrorists up to 175%. The PPP always gave importance to the poor people of Pakistan in every economic crisis. This selected and puppet government is crushing the people of KP for the last eight years. By stopping the BISP, the PTI government has usurped the rights of the people.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari vowed that the party will not allow the rolling back of the 18th Amendment and the NFC Award. This rigged, incapable and selected government has created an economic crisis in the country and has brought a tsunami of price hike. The inflation is more than that of Afghanistan and Bangladesh and Pakistan is also trailing behind these two countries in economic growth. We will form a peoples’ government and will take this country out of the economic crisis.
This government is not capable of running the economy of the country. They raised the slogan against corruption but are themselves engulfed in it. Transparency International says that there is a record corruption in Pakistan during the last thirty months of this incapable and selected PTI government. Every project under PTI is marred with corruption like Aleema baji’s sewing machine, Papa John’s pizza, Malamjabba, Billion Tree Tsunami etc. He said that corruption cannot be eliminated in this country until every citizen of Pakistan including generals, judges, politicians and bureaucrats are held accountable under one law.
Regarding the movement against the government by the opposition, he said that the PDM is challenging this government at every forum. The PDM has won all bye-elections in all the four provinces of Pakistan which proves that the people are supporting PDM and democracy. The PDM is giving a tough time to this government in the Senate elections. We are not only challenging this government in KP but Islamabad as well. Pakistan Peoples Party’s candidate Farhatullah Babar is contesting from KP on the technocrat seat and he will succeed Insha Allah. The incapable and selected government is perplexed and in a spin since we have decided to contest Islamabad’s seat where Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani is our candidate. The government which was ignoring its own members for the last 30 months is now compelled to talk to its allies, MNAs and MPAs. The government’s allies, MNAs and MPAs are in contact with us and they will prove that they are standing with the people of Pakistan and not with a puppet. The government’s MNAs have to decide whether they are with the democratic candidate or that of PTIMF. He passionately announced that after the Senate elections, there will be a long march in the country and the fate of the puppet government will be decided.
