Govt fears opposition: Bilawal Bhutto

Islamabad: A delegation of Pakistan People’s Party led by Chairman PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on the leader of opposition in Punjab assembly, Hamza Shahbaz at his residence in Lahore on Sunday.

Senator-elect Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Manzoor and Hassan Murtaza were included in the delegation.

Talking to media after the meeting, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he visited Hamza Shahbaz to congratulate him on his release after two years in prison and also to congratulate him on the historic success of PDM’s joint candidate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani for a Senate seat from Islamabad.

He said that the government fears the opposition that is why Hamza Shahbaz was incarcerated for two years. He said that PDM will take unanimous decisions as the ultimate goal of the PDM is to get relief for the people of Pakistan who are faced with hunger, poverty, price-hike and unemployment under this incapable government in the centre and in Punjab as well. Both these governments in the centre and Punjab were imposed on the people. He said that the PDM has to struggle on the streets as well as in the parliament for the people of Pakistan.

Responding to questions, Chairman PPP said that the vote of confidence by the puppet prime minister was a joke and inner fear of the prime minister. He said that even the president of Pakistan accepted that Imran Khan has lost confidence of the majority of members in the National Assembly. He said that Imran Khan was the only one in the race but he had to resort to rigging in that as well because an independent member of the National Assembly who was present in the house says that the government vote count, in the so-called vote of confidence, was wrong and this issue should be investigated. He said that the PDM won by-elections from every corner of the country as well as from the National Assembly. Now the PDM will decide where and when the no-confidence motion will be moved.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PML-N has the most number of members in Punjab assembly. Replying to a question he said that we have learnt from the past elections in the Senate that is why Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani won. He said that Imran Khan never got the votes of the members according to their own choice rather they were pressurised to vote for Imran Khan.

He said that the PDM is fighting against this puppet government by the power of the people and the parliament. We will get more political successes. We have to save Punjab from “Wasim Akram plus”. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani is asking every Senator for support and will also request Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Ilahi. Chairman PPP said that he will personally go to visit them.
