Senate opposition leader PPP’s right: Bilawal Bhutto
Karachi: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that Senate opposition leader was PPP’s right, no one should object on this adding that PML-N candidate was controversial in our party.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that no name was agreed in the PDM for Senate opposition leader. He said that PML-N leaders are giving statements against PPP including Maryam Nawaz. He requested PML-N friends to keep calm.
He said that the PML-N was not expected to react like Imran Khan after the defeat of the Senate candidate.
The PPP chairman said, he was not expecting that a political party would take such a tough decision. Some members of our party felt that the PPP was being pushed to the wall adding that we do not want to harm the PDM.
He welcomed the decision of three independent members to sit on the opposition benches. He said that Independent members from Balochistan belong to Dilawar Khan’s group.
He said Azam Nazir Tarar was a lawyer in the Bibi Shaheed murder case, how could I support him.
Bilawal Bhutto said that I had introduced the word ‘selected’ so I know where to use it. He said I think the opposition was not harmed.
Chairman PPP said, there is a lot to be said but I would not like to respond to the allegations, I laid the foundation of the PDM and I do not want to harm it, said Bilawal.
Bilawal demanded the resignations of all the ministers including PM Imran after Nadeem Babar was ousted.
He said Pakistan s inflation rate is higher than that of Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The government has repeatedly harmed the people due to its wrong policies, he alleged. It is a historic failure that Pakistan s economy is in negative.
Ordinance relating to SBP will be challenged on every legal forum. The government should immediately withdraw the ordinance relating to SBP. We also want the State Bank of Pakistan to become an independent institution, said Bilawal.
