Close coordination with key federal agencies, CPEC Authority and BoI established: BBoIT chief

Quetta: Close and effective coordination with key federal agencies including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority and federal Board of Investment (BoI) has been established, a senior government official said.
Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Farman Zarkoon said that the establishment of offices in Islamabad and Karachi had proved to be important for the promotion of domestic and foreign investments.
“We have established close coordination with the CPEC Authority and the other federal government departments to focus on the CPEC and other development projects,” he told a meeting here.
He said the BBoIT offices were aiding to provide investors the necessary information regarding incentives provided under the government’s investment policy, also information and guidance is being provided on investment opportunities in various sectors in the province.
“We are helping the investors who are interested in the CPEC Special Economic Zones. Balochistan is a land of investment opportunities,” he said, according to an official statement.
Farman Zarkoon said that investment in Balochistan would be strongly encouraged by domestic and international investors saying that it was the policy of the provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan to promote investment in the province for the betterment of the economy.
For this, he said, “it is necessary to provide facilities to the investors and the business community at their doorsteps along with providing facilities to domestic investors and the business community from the offices in Islamabad and Karachi.”
He said it was necessary to provide other information on visas, security, travelling, No-Objection Certificate (NOC) and Registration to foreign investors.
He maintained the BBoIT was the first provincial investment board in the country to take such an initiative as after the establishment of BBoIT’s Islamabad offices close liaison has been established with the international community, business community and diplomatic missions.
Zarkoon said that being an economic hub of the country, the establishment of office in Karachi would ensure many benefits. “Given these measures, investors’ confidence in investing in Balochistan has increased manifold,” he claimed.
