CPEC Authority chief discusses CPEC power projects with NEPRA Chairman
Islamabad: China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority chief Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) visited the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) headquarters to discuss CPEC power projects with NEPRA Chairman Tauseef H Farooqi.
Bajwa exchanged view with the Chairman NEPRA Tauseef H Farooqi who was assisted by NEPRA member Balochistan Rehmatullah Baloch, said an official statement issued here.
“Detailed discussion was held on current and forthcoming CPEC power projects in the meeting,” said the statement.
CPEC Authority has already said that nine out of 22 CPEC energy projects had been completed, while five mega electricity projects in Thar, Kohala, Azad Pattan and others were in the pipeline.
After completion of all the projects, Pakistan would not only become self-sufficient in the energy with addition of 17,000 MW electricity to the national grid, but would also be able to export it.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, in a recent statement, had also expressed satisfaction over the progress of the CPEC projects.
