Iron Brother China’s support played key role to counter Covid-19 in Pakistan: Punjab Health Minister
Lahore: Iron Brother China’s support played a key role to control the Covid-19 pandemic in Pakistan, Punjab Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said.
In a meeting with the delegation of Orange Line Metro Train here at the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), she said Pakistan and China were jointly working on developing coordination to control the pandemic.
Yasmin Rashid thanked China for technical support to prepare the anti-Covid vaccine. “We are working on doubling the vaccination capacity in Punjab,” she said.
The health minister said that Pakistan-China friendship had been exemplary for decades. “Pakistani people are thankful to the Chinese people for support during the coronavirus pandemic. The frontline workers were vaccinated on priority basis,” she said, according to an official statement.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Orange Line Train Li Chen appreciated the efforts of the Health Minister in combating pandemic and developing vaccination facilities.
He specially thanked the Minister for provision of Covid-19 vaccination for 1400 employees of the Orange Line. A shield was presented to Minister for Health by the delegation.
Orange Line Train GM Li Jianquan, Deputy General Manager (DGM) Pan Song and DGM Nouman Akhtar presented details of the Orange Train project to the minister.
Additional Secretary Development P&SHD Omer Farooq and other officials attended the meeting, said the statement.
