Syed Zahid Abbas Shah-led PPP Germany holds impressive functions to mark Benazir Bhutto’s birthday
Frankfurt: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Germany chapter led by Syed Zahid Abbas Shah held impressive functions in this European country on June 21 to mark former premier Benazir Bhutto’s birthday.
On the directives of the PPP Germany President Syed Zahid Abbas Shah, functions were held in all major cities of Germany to celebrate the occasion.
The main function was held in Frankfurt presided by Syed Zahid Abbas Shah. Party leaders and workers participated in the event under the Covid-19 SOPs.
Addressing the participants, Syed Zahid Abbas Shah said Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the rights of the Pakistanis. “She proved herself as the true heir of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who preferred to die rather than compromising,” he said.
Syed Zahid Abbas Shah said leaders like Benazir Bhutto are born once in centuries and Pakistan lost an icon of democracy when she was martyred in December 2007.
The PPP Germany President said he had planned a massive show of party’s strength to mark Benazir Bhutto’s birthday, but Covid-19 SOPs created hurdles. “Hopefully, the next time, we will celebrate Benazir Bhutto’s birthday with more guests and participants. This time, the permission was restricted for the function,” he said.
Senior PPP leaders Nadeem Asghar Kaira, Qadir Khan Mandokhel and Shahida Rehmani also addressed the gathering. They vowed to achieve the mission set by great leaders – Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. They also appreciated Syed Zahid Abbas Shah for organizing the PPP in Germany in a professional manner under difficult circumstances.
Other participants extended felicitations to PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and the Bhutto family on Benazir Bhutto’s birthday.
They vowed to promote the cause of democracy, saying that the PPP chairman was leading the party in an efficient manner. The speakers said the opponents appeared in a disarray owing to the way of politics adopted by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
They said the incumbent government was voted into power in the name of a change but it did nothing to deliver on the pledges. The speakers added Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was young and energetic as he had the ability to pull the country out of the prevailing crisis-like situation. A cake was cut at the end of the event to mark Benazir Bhutto’s birthday.
