Punjab CM orders to allot lands to Chinese investors for corporate agriculture farming
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered to allot lands to Chinese investors for corporate agriculture farming.
Chairing a meeting here at his office, he directed to finalize the corporate agriculture farming policy within the next few days.
“The process of allotment of lands to Chinese investors for corporate agriculture farming should begin within days,” he directed.
The CM said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a game-changer enterprise to augur well for the development and prosperity of the country.
He said the multi-billion-dollar CPEC would generate hundreds of thousands of new job opportunities through a boost in economic activities.
CPEC Authority Chairman Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) and Chairman Faisalabad Industrial Estates Development and Management Company Mian Kashif Ashfaq and senior government officials participated in the meeting.
The CM vowed ingenious work for agricultural development as it would strengthen the provincial economy.
“The research would particularly focus on high yield seeds. The corporate agriculture farming is the need of hour to maintain national food security,” he said.
The CM said different facilities had also been provided to Chinese investors in CPEC’s Special Economic Zone Faisalabad and “the government would welcome Chinese investment in corporate agriculture farming.”
