Athens: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine Sunday condemned in the strongest terms the incursions carried out this morning Sunday “by Jews and colonial settlers into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,” which came against the backdrop of calls launched by the so-called “Temple Mount Organizations Union, said a statement issued here.
The Palestine ministry also condemned the barbaric attacks carried out by the occupation forces and its police against worshipers in the mosque at dawn this morning and pursuits to force them out of the courtyards of the mosque to facilitate the incursions in front of the Jewish extremists.
The Ministry confirmed that these attacks and incursions fall within the framework of an official Israeli decision to perpetuate the temporal division of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque until it is divided spatially, and within the process of Israelization and Judaization of Jerusalem, imposing control over it and emptying it of Palestinian citizens, it said.
The Ministry held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for this continuous targeting of Jerusalem with its neighborhoods, towns and Palestinian identity, in particular the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its consequences and repercussions on the entire situation, and sees in it systematic Israeli attempts to replace the political conflict with a religious conflict to hide the nature of the occupation recipe from Israel.
The Palestinian Ministry affirmed that attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque will not pass the vigor and steadfastness of the stationed Jerusalemites who defend Jerusalem and its sanctities on behalf of the Arab and Islamic nations.
The ministry continues to follow up on the repercussions and details of this brutal aggression on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and continues its political, diplomatic and international legal action at all levels to demand international protection for Al-Aqsa, Al-Quds and the Jerusalemites, and to mobilize an effective international position forcing the occupying state to stop the incursions, attacks and restrictions imposed by the occupation authorities on the mosque and the Islamic Endowments Department and worshipers, and to implement the relevant Arab, Islamic and UN resolutions, in coordination with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, said the statement.
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Greece Marwan Toubassi said that these attacks and incursions fall within the framework of an official Israeli decision to perpetuate the temporal division of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque until it is divided spatially, and within the hatred process of Israelization and Judaization of Jerusalem, imposing control over it and emptying it of Palestinian citizens.
Ambassador Toubassi calls on the Greek Government and all freedom and peace advocates in Greece to raise voice loudly to save Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic sanctities , and to pursue pressure on the occupying power ‘Israel’, to halt its continues violations of all UN resolutions and international law.
