Historic rigging in AJK: Bilawal Bhutto
Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that money worked in Azad Kashmir elections as PTI businessmen and ministers allegedly distributed money.
“I condemn this historical rigging. Imran Khan has given ticket to a Taliban representative and if he wins, it will adversely impact Pakistan. An FIR has been lodged against Chaudhry Yasin and his son and we will fight tooth and nail. The government has left the people without any support after the destruction caused by the recent rains in Islamabad. No federal minister has come to the aid of the people. We want fair and transparent elections without the interference of the establishment,” he said at a news conference here.
Chairman Bilawal expressed these views while addressing a press conference after a meeting with Azad Kashmir party ticket holders. He was accompanied by PPP Azad Kashmir President Latif Akbar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Humayun Khan, Farhatullah Babar, Faisal Karim Kundi and others. The rigging in AJK elections will be exposed in front of the people. Attempts are being made to suppress the PPP. Modi is taking political revenge in occupied Kashmir and Imran Khan also took political revenge in AJK. We have faced political revenge before. We will bring to light the violence that took place in Kashmir.
The PTI has awarded a ticket to former Taliban leader for the Kashmir Ulema seat. If it is won, the impact will not be good. Kashmiris are peaceful people. The hatred and resentment of the common man against the present government is evident to everyone. The PPP workers and activists have worked day and night to snatch 11 seats despite rigging.
Responding to questions from the journalists, Chairman Bilawal said that our policy regarding PDM is very clear. We can overthrow the government in a democratic and parliamentary manner but other opposition parties have no policy. Imran Khan can be ousted from the federation. The PPP will continue to fight this government.
He said that the government has left the people of Islamabad helpless after the recent rains. We also had a lot of rains which caused a lot of damage but our ministers stood by their people but in the rains in Islamabad no minister was seen with the people. He said that the government is politicizing the Corona virus; they are neither working in Sindh nor allowing us to work. Sindh government is taking measures to protect the lives of the people. Imran Khan will be responsible for the situation if it deteriorates like that in India. Delta virus has come to Pakistan with the opening of the border. It is the responsibility of the federal government to take care of the people.
Chairman Bilawal said that the policy of the PPP on the issue of Afghanistan is the same while there is a contradiction in the policy of others. He said that oppression is not a message of Islam. “We have always raised our voice for the rights of minorities.”
