Shaikh Rashid distorting political history: Faisal Karim Kundi

Islamabad: PPP Central Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi said that interior minister Shaikh Rashid Ahmed should not try to distort political history.

Reacting to interior minister’s statement, he said the judicial assassination of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is still a deep wound on the heart of the nation.

“Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is the only politician in the world whose supporter went to gallows and set them on fire protesting his assassination. They went to the gallows with great enthusiasm and raised the slogan of Jeay Bhutto on their way to the gallows,” he said.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that Benazir Bhutto and Begum Nusrat Bhutto, the Mother of Democracy fought hard against the unconstitutional, unprincipled and illegitimate rule of dictators.

He said that on April 4, 1979, with the death of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the independence and sovereignty of the country were trampled. He said that millions of devotees of Shaheed Bhutto were still alive today while no one will be left behind the likes of Shaikh Rashid Ahmed.
