Pakistan receives 2 million more vaccines from China

Islamabad: Pakistan has received 2 million more doses of Sinovac vaccines from China to fight Covid-19, the authorities said.
“Two million more doses of China’s Sinovac vaccine reached Pakistan on Saturday”, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said.
“Another consignment of 2 Million doses of #SinoVac Vaccine arrived in Pakistan on 21 August 21,” a spokesperson for the NDMA tweeted.
The vaccines arrived in Islamabad on board a Pakistan International Airport (PIA) flight and has been shifted to an Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) warehouse in the capital city.
While the health authorities aim to procure as many as 30 million doses of different vaccines this month, 20 million of them have already been flown in.
On August 16, the NDMA spokesperson had said that more doses of Sinopharm and Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines reached Pakistan on August 14 and 15. Pakistan received two million more doses of Sinopharm and consignment of four million doses of Sinovac vaccine, he added.
Pakistan is mainly using Chinese vaccines against Covid. China has gifted millions of doses and provided vaccines to Pakistan on priority basis.
