Imran Khan greets China on National Day, vows to work together
Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has greeted leadership and people of China on their 72nd Chinese National Day.
In a tweet, he said; “On behalf of my government and the people of Pakistan our warmest greetings to the leadership and people of China on their 72nd Chinese National Day. The historic Pak-China friendship runs deep and strong as we work together for peace and economic prosperity for our people and our region.”
Separately, Minister for Interior, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Friday felicitated the People’s Republic of China on its national day.
In a message the minister said: “I would like to extend my heartiest felicitations to the People’s Republic of China as the country celebrates its National Day, today.”
He added: “I wish and pray for the prosperity, happiness, and well-being of the people of China on this auspicious day. I also wish an even brighter future for Pakistan-China friendship in the times to come.”
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, in his message on the National Day of People’s Republic of China, also felicitated the Chinese government, its leadership and people.
The chief minister maintained that bilateral ties between Pakistan and China had become an example for the rest of the world.
“Pak-China friendship is invincible and people from both sides have affection for each other,” he remarked.
Usman Buzdar observed that China was a trustworthy friend of Pakistan, adding that China overcame poverty and unemployment in a short span of time and became an economic giant.
“The rapid economic stability of China is a role model for the poor and third world countries,” the CM mentioned, adding that Allama Iqbal had made predictions about Chinese development about a hundred years ago.
“The foresighted leadership of China has made their nation economically independent and put them on the road to progress. The CPEC in Punjab is an unprecedented example of Pak-China friendship,” he stated.
Also on Friday, Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Chairman Senator Faisal Javed Khan felicitated people of China on their National Day.
In a tweet, he said, “Warm greetings to the people of China on their National Day.”
He reminded that since the establishment of our diplomatic relations, Pakistan and China had forged an all-weather friendship and conducted all-round cooperation,” adding, it remained firm as a rock.
National Day of the People’s Republic of China, is a public holiday in China celebrated annually on October 1.
The day commemorates the formal proclamation of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China on 1 October 1949.
The Chinese Communist Party victory in the Chinese Civil War resulted in the Chinese Communist Revolution whereby the People’s Republic of China replaced the Republic of China.
