PPP demands formation of a committee to probe NAB’s recovery claims

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party’s Central Information Secretary Shazia Atta Marri has said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had  clarified that Government should be taken National Assembly into confidence on sensitive issues of the National Security.

She said that Prime Minister had announced in his speech that relief would be given to the people but no such relief has been yet provided to the masses except usual false claims and fake announcements by the government.

Marri said that PPP has strongly condemned the conduct of ruling government with  media in the Parliament House.

She added that perhaps ruling party wants to impose a complete ban on the media but we would not allow the government to do such decisions and PPP will stand shoulder by shoulder in every injustice against the media.

This she said while holding a joint press conference with PPP leader Saleem Mandiwala her at Islamabad. She said that inflation has doubled and skyrocketing prices of essential commodities has made the life of the people very hard.

She said that the profiteers have been placed in the country for sugar, oil and ghee which are the part of B team of the government. Peoples Party has rejected recent hike in petrol and electricity prices and had demanded it’s immediate withdrawal from the government.

On this occasion, PPP’s Saleem Mandiwalla said that the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is being blackmailed by the federal government and he was compelled to work according to the will and wishes of government.

He added it was informed in the finance committee that the government had not yet received any recovered money from NAB. He has demanded from the government that an enquiry committee would be formed to probe the issue of Rs. 815 billions.

He added that a letter has also written to the Chairman finance committee to form a sub-committee as well and he claimed that he didn’t see such a big scandal of the country throughout in his political career.
