Karachi: Sindh provincial government is set to purchase 250 hybrid buses for Sindh Intra District People’s Bus Service from China.
The provincial cabinet had approved the purchase of 250 hybrid buses in September. These buses will run in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas and Shaheed Benazirabad.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PPP-led Sindh government has decided to launch an intercity bus project.
Speaking at a news conference here at Bilawal House, he announced the Sindh government will launch intercity and intra-city bus projects for Karachi by the end of January 2022.
“Sindh government will fulfill its all commitments related to Red Line and Orange Line BRTs (Bus Rapid Transport) and would also launch bus service in Karachi,” the PPP chairman remarked.
The development comes after Prime Ministry Imran Khan recently launched Green Line BRT project in Karachi. Under this plan, 80 China-made buses will facilitate the passengers in Karachi.
