Pakistan to provide all facilities to Chinese investors in Gwadar and SEZs: BOI chief
Islamabad: Chairman Pakistani Board of Investment (BOI), Muhammad Azfar Ahsan has said that Pakistan will provide all required facilities to Chinese investors in Gwadar and Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
“We have addressed all genuine issues being faced by the people taking keen interest in Gwadar and Special Economic Zones, for establishing business,” he remarked in a statement.
Ahsan maintained that different projects had been executed in Gwadar and SEZs. “All these projects are showing progress,” he added.
About Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to China, he mentioned, “we will have discussion with Chinese investors and offer them incentives and facilities for opening business in Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s former ambassador to China Naghmana Hashmi said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to China would further promote bilateral relations between the two countries.
She acknowledged that China had always supported Pakistan in the hour of trial. In a media interaction, she reminded that PM Khan had visited China during the COVID pandemic to express solidarity with the Chinese people.
She informed that China was interested in the economic progress of Pakistan through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. CPEC, in fact, would accomplish China’s concept of ‘Belt and Road Initiative’, she added.
About bridging the cultural gap between the two nations, Naghmana Hashmi suggested that Pakistan should send professors, intellectuals, journalists, and think tanks to China for promoting people-to-people contacts. Pakistan’s film industry, television, and other national institutions could play a vital role to achieve the objective, she opined.
