Pakistani minister lauds Chinese educated youth for serving their country
Multan: Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam has lauded the Chinese youth who for serving their country.
In an interaction with young students and journalists here, Fakhar Imam urged them to focus on promotion of quality education only.
He claimed that more than 2 million Chinese youth acquired high quality education from America and then served in their own country instead of staying back in the United States. “The nations who focus on quality education excel in all fields. Getting education from other countries is good but that education must be utilized in the country for progress,” he contended.
Imam mentioned that there was a time when 90 percent Chinese were spending lives below poverty level. “However, after focusing on quality education, China abolished poverty from the country. There are an example for Pakistan and other countries,” he added.
The minister stressed on the youth to improve skills in Hi-Tech as it was vital to put country on way leading to matchless progress within shortest span of time.
Imam maintained that the youngsters ranging from 18 to 25 year of age were earning huge amounts through the Hi-Tech. “Hi-Tech is fast emerging business for speedy progress. A good number of youngsters in developed countries became owner of billions of dollars through the Hi-Tech,” he pointed out.
The minister emphasized that the youth should acquire basic skills and then improve it further to achieve excellence at global level.
He noted that billionaire Bill Gates made tremendous progress by technology. “In Pakistan, nearly 19 % people are below poverty level and they could be lifted by promoting skilled base knowledge,” he remarked.
Imam urged upon students to follow and learn from life of Pakistan’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “Quaid-e-Azam was included in list of top 10 lawyers due to his hard work. He earned huge amounts and donated his property to Ali Garh University, Sindh Madrasstual Islam and Islamia College Peshawar,” the minister stated.
Imam opined that the country could only made rapid progress by promoting skilled society. “Knowledge oriented education and its applications especially in field of agriculture, commerce, trade and industry was of very much important,” he observed.
In Pakistan, he said, only 2 million Pakistanis pay direct taxes. “However, the ratio of tax payers in other countries is very high. Last year Pakistan collected tax of (Pakistani) Rs 4700 billion against expenditures of Rs 8000 billion. To meet the shortage, Pakistan has to visit different monetary institutions,” he elaborated.
Imam also advised the students to keep monitoring strategic relations at international level as it was also vital to understand many things, essential for progress and prosperity of the country.
On this occasion, President Young Pakistanis Organization Naeem Iqbal Naeem, Regional Director Aspire Group of Colleges Adeel Qamar, District Officer Special Education Mian Majid, Professor Azam, Muhammad Inaam and many others were present.
