Imran Khan’s recent visit to China a complete success: Minister
Faisalabad: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to China was a complete success.
“The PM’s visit to China proved a complete success. The (Pakistan-China) cooperation will increase further as a result of this visit and the PM’s meetings with the top Chinese leadership (including President Xi Jinping),” he stated at a public gathering in Canal Burg area in Faisalabad.
The minister remarked that China is the Iron Brother and all-weather friend of Pakistan which always stood by Pakistan in difficult times.
Farrukh Habib mentioned that Karakoram Highway was a testament of Pakistan-China friendship. He noted that the people of Pakistan have very favorable sentiments for China and keep Pakistan, China friendship in high regard.
The state minister contended that Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a great initiative of regional connectivity of which China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a flagship project.
He spoke about the Allama Iqbal Special Economic Zones in Faisalabad and said that the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) had great potential for Chinese investment. He underscored that necessary infrastructure in Allama Iqbal Special economic zone has already been developed.
The minister of State also called for the need for Pakistani and Chinese Companies to undertake joint ventures in the Textile Sector.
Farrukh Habib also highlighted the need for city-to-city cooperation, research, and cooperation on social protection programs between Pakistan and China.
He stressed that the world in large and Pakistan, in particular, can learn a great deal from China on how it successfully brought 700 million people out of poverty.
The minister expressed pleasure over the extension of CPEC beyond infrastructure development to social and agriculture cooperation.
