Dissident PTI MNAs sent show cause notices
Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has sent its dissident members of National Assembly show cause notices asking them to either respond to the notices or leave the party membership.
This was stated by Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Faisal Javed Khan in a tweet.
He called the show cause notice a respite to those who had announced to cast vote in no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“No one is forced. If you have to leave, then leave the party and resign. Neither a vote will work nor note,” he tweeted adding that horse trading was an illegitimate act.
Faisal Javed warned that the ones selling their votes for money were ending their politics forever by selling their conscience. “It is never too late. There are enough days now. It is better than humiliation in public. Come on the path of truth. Shun the falsehood. If you have taken money, open an orphanage and avoid being a political orphan,” he said.
On March 17, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had announced that legal action against dissident MNAs of PTI had been initiated.
Fawad had said that the government rejected ‘deals’ to appease disgruntled party members. He had claimed that a female MNA was given Rs70 million and asked, “Should we give her Rs100 million to appease her? What will then be the difference between PTI and PPP and PML-N?”
The information minister had said the government would deliberate on the suggestion of the governor rule’s imposition in Sindh.
