Shehbaz visits Zardari, discusses political situation
Islamabad: President Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Shehbaz Sharif called on the former President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari and the Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Zardari House Islamabad on Sunday evening.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Mian Shehbaz Sharif discussed the political situation in the country. Shehbaz Sharif thanked President Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Sharif for their efforts to ensure the success of the no-confidence motion. They pledged to work together on the issues of public interest.
Secretary information PPP and PPPP, Faisal Karim Kundi and Shazia Atta Marri were present on the occasion while Ayaz Sadiq, Maryam Aurangzeb and Saad Rafique accompanied Shehbaz Sharif.
Separately, Zardari said that the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had given a unanimous constitution to the nation on this day. The 1973 constitution is the guarantee of the integrity and survival of the federation.
He said Benazir Bhutto fought all her life for restoration of 1973 constitution. Safeguarding the 1973 constitution, Benazir Bhutto endured imprisonment and hardships.
The journalists also fought hard for the freedom of expression and media as well as the restoration of 1973 constitution.
Zardari paid rich tributes to those who accepted executions, floggings and imprisonment for protecting the 1973 constitution.
The 18th Amendment in the constitution is a charter between the federation and the units. The rule of the constitution will strengthen the security of the country and the credibility of the institutions, Asif Ali Zardari said.
