US agrees with DG ISPR statement on ‘threat letter’
Washington: US State Department spokesperson Ned Price refuted former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s allegations and agreed with the statements made by the Pakistan military’s spokesperson in a press conference here.
Ned Price in a regular press briefing maintained that US supports the peaceful upholding of the constitutional and democratic principles including respect for human rights.
The US spokesperson reiterated that the allegations made by Imran Khan were baseless.
“We do not support whether it is in Pakistan or anywhere else around the world one political party over another”, he added.
“We support broader principles including the rule of law and equal justice under the law”.
Going along with the statement made by DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar during the presser, Ned Price said, “We would agree with it.”

DG ISPR held a press briefing on Thursday to elucidate military’s perspective on the current political situation.
He denied the use of the word ‘conspiracy’ in the minutes of the meeting.
He said what has happened in the past days is part of the constitutional process, and it is wrong to drag the army into it.
He commented that the army is nobody to give NRO to anybody. He also turned down allegations that the army chief was involved in any kind of development for toppling Imran Khan’s government and said evidence of such allegations must be brought about.
