SAARC-CCI appreciates China’s support to Pakistan
Islamabad: The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry SAARC-CCI) on Saturday afternoon appreciated that China had assured support to Pakistan amid the economic quagmire as new Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took over.
Talking to a delegation of traders led by Muslim Khan Benowari, President SAARC-CCI Iftikhar Ali Malik said it was good omen and point of satisfaction that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the need for close cooperation with the China and other countries to further deepen relations on the principles of equality, mutual interest and mutual benefit.
He praised the prudent decision of Pakistan for sending positive signals to China and other countries for better ties in the days to come for durable peace in the region coupled with sustainable economic growth, adding China’s response was as ever positive and supportive.
Malik mentioned that Pakistan also underlined the importance of enhanced investment from China in industrialisation, agriculture and digital technologies.
He contended that Pakistan affirmed its commitment to further deepening the win-win economic cooperation partnership between the two countries.
He hoped new leadership of Pakistan would strictly adhere to principal stands on all important international issues besides better relations with all neighbouring countries for long lasting peace and for prosperity of the people in the region.
PM Shehbaz Sharif is also planning a visit to China soon to hold talks with the Chinese leadership. Pakistani leaders normally visit China in the first few weeks after taking over power due to the close ties with Beijing called ‘Iron Brother’ in Pakistan.
