Nafisa Shah upset at Chaghi incident

Islamabad: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Dr Nafisa Shah on Monday said that the news of firing on locals’ protest in Chaghi was disturbing.

“The PPP is concerned over reports of locals being injured in the firing in Chaghi. Peaceful protest is a fundamental and constitutional right of every citizen,” Nafisa Shah said.

She said if protesters had even violated law “then action should have be taken against them according to law.”

The PPP leader said relevant institutions including the PM should take immediate notice of Chaghi incident.

“Investigate Chaghi incident and bring out facts. The solution to the problems is not through violence and firing but through dialogue. The concerns of the protesters should be heard,” Nafisa Shah said.
