Beijing: An amazing Giant sinkhole 630 feet deep had been discovered in China.

The news agency quoted experts as saying that there was a “well-preserved ancient forest” at the bottom of the pit, whose trees were rising towards the sun.

Chen Lexin, who led the cave-searching expedition, told Shenhua that a dense plant in the pit was up to a man’s shoulder and that some of the ancient trees at its base were 131 feet (40) meters high.

According to Lexin, “I am not surprised to learn that there are species in these caves that have never been mentioned, nor have science ever described them.”

The Guangxi region of China is known for its beauty and charming limestone shapes. Only in Lee County, where the pit was discovered, are there many such pits.

“Due to differences in local geology, the environment and other factors, the way limestone emerges from the surface can be dramatically different,” he said.

He added: “That’s why in China you find this area of​​visually incredibly attractive limestone, where huge pits and caves with gigantic entrances, etc. are found.”

“In other parts of the world, you walk on limestone and you see nothing. Pits can be quite small, just a meter or two in diameter. The entrances to the caves can be small so the body has to be compressed to pass through them.
