Imran Khan announces Islamabad Long March on May 25
Peshawar: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan has announced that they would hold a Long March on Islamabad on May 25.
He appealed to the nation and all walks of life to join the march. He further said that he was inviting the whole nation including youth, students, women, businessmen, ex-servicemen and all walks of life to join the Azadi March to save Pakistan.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan made this announcement at a press conference after concluding a meeting of the PTI’s core committee in Peshawar on Sunday.
The PTI chairman said that he would arrive in Islamabad on May 25 and meet his workers and supporters at 3 pm at Srinagar Highway.
The former prime minister was flanked by several PTI leaders, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Mahmood Khan.
At the beginning of the press briefing, he said that under his rule, every sector industry and agriculture and IT had been making progress but his government was toppled under a foreign conspiracy.
He added that the country was sustainable course when a United States-backed conspiracy had been hatched with the help of the previous Opposition to eliminate his government.
Imran maintained that this plot was not made against him but it was against Pakistan, adding that his government was removed at a time when the country was moving towards unprecedented progress in terms of industrial and agricultural growth and a record-breaking increase in the gross domestic product (GDP).
The former prime minister taunted that the previous opposition was said to be very experienced and competent in running the country but the whole nation witnessed their condition and incompetence in running the country for one month.
He further said that despite their experience, the rupee was depreciating, the stock market plummeting, and inflation skyrocketing.
He observed that they were competent and experts to loot the country and do corruption.
He further said that the present imported government was unable to take big decisions and now it was asking National Security Committee to fix the prices of petrol and diesel so that the armed forces could be blamed for unbearable inflation.
He explained why the PTI was going to hold a long march on Islamabad because this was a great insult to the 220 million nation that a USA Undersecretary threatened Pakistan’s ambassador to remove the Imran-led government otherwise Pakistan would face a tough time. Because Imran Khan had gone to Russia against the USA’s order and he was following an independent foreign policy, he maintained.
He added that India had decreased the prices of POL products as she was importing oil from Russia despite she was an ally of the USA but India said to the Western powers that for India, the interests of her people were its top priority and she was providing relief her masses.
Imran further said that this was the difference between a slave and independent policies.
He said that PML-N and its allies came into power only to close their corruption cases and save their plundered money.
He, addressing the youth, said that until the rule of law was not enforced, Pakistan could not make progress and develop.
At the end of the press conference, he asked the law enforcement agencies and bureaucracy not to create any hindrance in the long march and arrest the PTI workers otherwise they would be held responsible for their actions.
He also appealed to the establishment if they claimed to be neutral so they must stay neutral during the Azadi March.
