Canberra: With the untiring efforts of Pakistani High Commissioner to Australia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, the Government of Australia has announced a further $ 3 million in flood relief assistance to Pakistan in response to the devastating flooding that has impacted over 33 million people and deluged more than a third of the country.
The Australian assistance will be delivered through the World Food Program (WFP). Australia had earlier provided $2 million in relief assistance. The additional support will bring Australia’s total assistance to $5 million.
The Government and the people of Pakistan greatly appreciate Australia’s solidarity in the wake of devastating floods caused by climate change, said High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri.
