Pakistan and China to launch collaborated Dual Technical Diploma
Islamabad: Chairperson Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Mamoon Jaffar Tarar presided over a meeting with MaxMa, Executive Vice President, TANG China International Education Group and Yasser Shakoor, Business Development Manager, TANG on Tuesday to discuss launching of collaborated Dual Diploma (three years program).
MaxMa briefed the chairperson that the pilot Software Technology Diploma Program will be launched at Government College of Technology (GCT), Lahore and Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (IT), China from the forthcoming session October-2022.
The Chairperson appreciated the initiative and termed it a gigantic step for empowering youth with advanced skill sets. He said that China Pakistan is iron brothers and this is proved by the collaboration in education sector by both countries.
He maintained that the programs will be offered under agreement signed by Tang China and TEVTA to provide 3-Years’ Dual Diploma joint education programme model, with 2-years’ study in Pakistani technical college, while 3rd- year study in brother Vocational / technical college of China.
Elaborating about the program, Chairperson Mamoon Jaffar added that this dual diploma program will provide an international exposure for students on demand driven major technologies/trades through Chinese qualification and Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) certificate. They will be able to achieve Better employment and placement opportunities all around the world, he mentioned.
The Chairperson TEVTA explained that in the first phase 25 students will be selected for admission through special admission advertisement, designed for the purpose, in order to ascertain the quality intake.
